Hydrate!

Everybody knows how important it is to hydrate in order to maintain smooth, moisturized skin. This rule does not apply, however, to sugary and unhealthy drinks like soda or synthetic fruit juices with too many additives.

And here's where tea is added into the equation! It can make a great substitute for other unhealthy drinks; instead of a “diet” coke with your lunch, have a cup of tea instead. Tea contains no additives, sodium, fat, sugar, and is calorie-free. It is basically water– but it tastes much better.

Masks & Exfoliators

There is a reason you see so many skincare products that are ‘green tea infused” or “made with tea tree oil” recently; tea contains many properties that are nourishing to the skin. With summer coming up, this recipe for a homemade black tea body rub is perfect to fight the harmful effects of UV rays on skin: https://www.couponsandfreebiesmom.com/2015/07/homemade-black-tea-body-scrub.html

It is super simple to put together and only requires a few ingredients, but will go a long way in helping your skin stay clear and smooth!

Black tea and honey are also a classic pairing when it comes to skincare. The soothing elements of the tea and antibacterial properties of honey work wonders to counteract skin irritation and breakouts. Here are two recipes for black tea/honey face masks:

Remember to stay hydrated and moisturize regularly– and drink tons of tea, too!
